    Windows XP 64 Bit

Has anyone gotten this game to work with a 64 bit processor running Windows XP 64 Bit?

    Re: Windows XP 64 Bit

Try www.systemrequirementslab.com and go on can you run it?

Select Zoo Tycoon 2 on the list

and click on can you run it button

You may have to install the active x control

System requirements lab tells you if your system can run the minumum or recommanded requirements for the game

    Hope this helpsSmile [:)]

    Re: Windows XP 64 Bit

I hate to revive this thread but I must report that I have three computers (all beyond the specs of Zoo Tycoon Marine Mania) and despite this, Marine Mania refuses to install on them, saying "Installation of this game is not supported on your operating system."

I am running Windows XP Profesional x64 edition.  My laptop (which is slower, but runs a 32-bit edition of XP Profesional) runs it fine.

It appears to be an issue with the installer that wraps the game.  It examines the opearating system and concludes (falsely) that XP x64 is to run Marine Mania.  No other expansions do this.  Is there some place I could file an error report or otherwise notify microsoft of this problem?  It's no good to have a product you make not work on your very own operating system.

I believe you can file this through the ZT2 MGS site here. (Microsoft Technical Support)

I'll send you a PM on this too with further information.

    Re: Windows XP 64 Bit

FYI, the "systemrequirementslab" site checks out on windows XP-64 and indicates you can run Zoo Tycoon 2. However the problem is with loading the system, it just won't load. You get a "Non compatable OS" message. I wonder if this will be the case with the new Vista 64 System????. Anyway the is a new machine and well capable of running the software.

    Hi Rockfish,

I also have the windows XP-64 Pro OS and can not load the system. I tried MS Tech support site and could not get through with out the code in the software that is available only after you load it. Or pay $35. I am ready to dump win XP-64 pro and go out and buy just XP-Pro. Microsoft should address this, they are selling the OS and the game, no excuse why there is a loading problem. This does not leave me feeling the warm fuzzies about upgrading to 64 bit Vista.

    Re: Windows XP 64 Bit

Yeah, it appears to be a universal problem with the installer.  It only happens with Marine Mania, no other expansions.

I transferred Marine Mania to my x64 computer by using a commercial program (Laplink PCMover) to transfer the already installed application from my laptop.  Now it works fine, so I do know for a fact Marine Mania can run on an XP x64 computer, just the installer falsely concludes that x64 is an inapropriate OS when in actuality it works perfect post-install.

Needless to say, not everybody is going to have the technical know-how (or $50 software fee) to transfer Marine Mania the way I did.  The standard installer should work with x64 (just like the other expansions), afterall, these are both Microsoft products.  Clearly a patch or something to that extent is needed.  I hope Microsoft sees this issue and resolves it quickly.

In the meantime, thank you all for your help.

    Re: Windows XP 64 Bit

I have the same problem too, just bought Zoo Tycoon 2 Zoo Keeper Collection which includes

    * Zoo Tycoon 2

    * Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species

    * Zoo Tycoon 2: African Adventure

I couldn't setup the game and error message popup saying "Installation of this game is not supportedon your operation system."  I'm running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and passed www.systemrequirementslab.com tests too.

I have no 32bit windows around me, so transfer from 32bit widnows doesn't work for me. Is there any other solutions? If not, I guess I'll just refund this game.
