A group of conservationists pooled their money together and bought some land for a horse reservation.  They have split the reserve into 9 seperate areas, 8 for the horses, and the 9th area is a stable connected to a pasture to house sick, injured, or problem horses.  They have grants to keep 8 species of horses on their reserve at a time, so they picked the most endangered species and the remaining species are other horses they thought stood a good chance of thriving in the wild.

Species: Norwegian Fjord Horse, Przewalski's Wild Horse, Miniature Pony, American Mustang, Sorraia, Tarpan, Arabian Horse, and Camargue Wild Horse

Status: Captive or Wild

Ranks: Lead Stallion, Mare, and Other Stallion

Rules:

1. For every 1 Stallion you request, you must also request 3 Mares*
2. You must have at least 2 Stallions (that means a minimum of 8 horses, Mares included)*
3. The Stallion(s) that are not the lead Stallion may either stay with the herd (not allowed to mate with any Mares), or start a small herd of their own (allowed to mate with his Mares)**
4. Please put future foal names if you ask for multiple horses
5. I will not replace any horses, even upon request (too complicated)
6. Wild horses may be killed by predators if their population is above 5 horses
7. You may add another horse to your herd at any time***

* These rules do not apply if you request captive horses

**If the other Stallion(s) start their own herd, please specify which Stallion gets which Mares

***When you add a horse, the aterisked (*) rules do not apply

Here is a picture of all of the horse species.  Most of them have multiple varient coats, so if you want, pick the color for your horse, and I'll match it as good as I can.  There are only two with no varients... the Sorraia and the Tarpan.

The reason that I started this YAFI was because I was watching Animal Planet this morning and there was a program about Przewalski's Wild Horses (they only called them that once, the other times they called them Takhi).  It was about a reintroduction program.  They said that since there are over 2,000 in zoos, they decided to try to return them to the wild and began a breeding program, raised about 100, and returned them to the wild.  Now there is a thriving wild population of them in Mongolia!

Species: American Mustang

Status: Wild Herd

This herd of horses once roamed freely on the American West Frontier, but due to development and habitat loss, these horses had nowhere else to roam except on rancher's property. Local ranchers threatened the horses by firing gunshots into the air, and warned the government that they would kill the wild horses if something wasnt done. Luckily, the horses were rescued, and were brought to a nearby Wild Horse Ranch. Unfortunetly, the ranch didnt have enough room to hold these wild animals, so they sent them to you. Will you take in these wild American mustangs?

The ranch has also gave you a warning about Lightning and Flash. If they continue to fight eachother over the mares, they may try to kill or severely injure eachother, so seperate them and split the mares equally. Lightning will get Aurora, Grace, and Shamrock; and Flash will get Rheia, Beauty, and Bella.

Sorry I haven't replied to anyone, but our power went out a few times because of some bad storms this week.  Michigan weather is so unpredictable!

I will be happy to take everyone's horses to Horse Haven.  I'll update very soon (if there aren't any more storms)

Bongoboy, are your horses captive or wild?  If they are wild, then Shaster adn Colter both need two more mares each.  Thanks for the foal names by the way!
