I don't live in either place, but I've been to Utah several times. There's great skiing there and I would reccomend Zion and Arches National Parks. But, home loyalty kicks in when I say that Colorado is cooler...

There is temperate rainforest in the U.S.A. other than Washington, like California, Alsaka, and states with the Appalachian mountain range in them.
