Okay, next chapter! Oh, and when I said she was going to find the pool's source, I meant that she would find the where the pool went. Like, a stream. There's a pool, and then the pool turns into a stream, and the stream flows over there. *Points to far side of cave*
So she walked even deeper into the tunnel. Several times she steeped into the river, as the cave got darker every step she took. Soon it was pitch black. After walking for a few more moments, her nose suddenly touched cold stone. Had she gone that far off course? Or maybe the river went into a tunnel, one too small for Storm to fit through? She placed her paws on the cave wall, and felt around the bottom and sides. Once she found the river, she put her feet in the current. Water swirled around her belly. The water was deeper then she had bargained for. Taking a few steps forward, she once again touched rock. She struck out her paws, and as she had thought, they disappeared into a small tunnel. Storm sighed; her fun was over, now that she had found where the stream went. She began to walk back to her parents, with her bushy wolf tail trailing the ground. But before she could go very far, she slipped. She shrieked with fear of being pulled underwater. She gasped once before her head went under, and tried to snag the rock wall before the stream’s wild water carried her into the tunnel.

Nest chapter.
She did it. She could feel it. She had caught the stone in her claws! Fighting against the flow of water, she swam her way to the surface, being careful not to loose her grip. One false move and she would drown. Her heart thumping in her chest, she put her other forepaw on the wall, and pulled herself up. She gasped for air, and coughed. But, she couldn’t hang like this forever; she had to do something. Storm could only see two choices: Let go and try to swim to shore, or wait and hope her parents came. But she couldn’t hear anything that would suggest that Wind and Frost knew what was happening. She took a deep breath, and, pulling herself farther out of the water, howled a call for help at the top of her lungs. She soon heard pawsteps, and she turned her head to see Wind running over.
“It’s raining!” he called. “The river’s going to flood!” He rushed to Storm’s side. No wonder the current was so strong; there was more water. Wind grabbed Storm’s scruff in his jaws, and gave a strong pull. Storm let go of the stone, trusting Wind to save her.

Next Chapter!
Storm exhaled, feeling her paws touch the ground. She tugged herself farther with her front legs. She rested for a moment, stunned and shocked, before Wind turned and asked,
“What are you doing here?” he said with an upset tone.
“I told you, I was exploring.” Storm answered indignantly.
“Sorry, but I was just so scared I’d lose you.” Wind sighed. Storm blinked understandingly at her father. She didn’t really understand, but she knew she would when she had kits of her own.
They walked back to where Frost was sitting by the entrance. It was much brighter over on this side of the cave, or at least bright enough for her to see her own feet. Frost nodded as they strided over. As they settled again, Storm once more felt overwhelming boredom. Or maybe it was just the gloomy atmosphere. Hardly any light and no reason for joy.
“What was it that you were running from, Dad?” Storm asked suddenly. Wind saw that he had to answer.
“You know that rumble you heard as we were fleeing? Well, that was it.” This, of course, infuriated Storm.
“I hate it! I hate how you are always talking in riddles! Either come out and say it, or don’t talk at all.” Wind flinched. His daughter had never spoken so boldly before. She was normally so soft. Though he could see why she had spoken like that. They were only telling her fragments. “Well, it was a Thunder. A prophecy Thunder. It’s a sign that shows that a prophecy is…” Wind trailed off. Storm sensed he was about to say something grim. “It shows that a prophecy is about to come true.”

Yeah, I chucked the prophecy. I'm going to alter the storyline a bit from what it was originally going to happen. But It will be done soon. And you know what, I'll post the next part right now.
“The prophecy Frost spoke of?” Storm asked quietly.
“I’m afraid so.” Wind answered gravely.
“But, I’m not really sure what that prophecy is about.” Storm replied. She sensed more explaining was coming. A lot more explaining.
“Well, when we looked at the water a voice spoke, and though we could not understand it, I felt that it spoke of a journey.”
“What kind of journey?” Storm asked.
“A journey to… Well, it has something to do with evil. Of that I am sure.” Wind looked over his shoulder, and called over to Frost. “Hey!”
Frost looked up, and walked over. “What is it?”
“Storm wants to know what you think the journey is about.” Frost looked blankly at her mate, and Wind glanced back.
“Oh! That journey. We’ll find out soon, I’m sure--”
A sound echoed though the cave. It felt like a distant rock fall. Then the crash started to get louder. Maybe it wasn’t so distant! “We have to get out of here, NOW!” Frost yelled, with a voice full of fear. If that avalanche was just outside, then they would be trapped with no hope of escape.

It's all starting to peice together now! Chapters will be posted more often!![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif)
They ran for the entrance. They heard more rocks fall behind them. As they squeezed through the tunnel, a large boulder landed beside Storm, who was at the end, behind Wind and Frost.
“Eek!” she yelped. “Hurry!” Then they finally burst out of the cave, and a large gust of wind greeted them. Storm recognized the rumble that she heard when they were running from the den.
The wind was stirring up snow, though, and was making hard to see. It was the strongest wind she had ever felt before. Surely this could not be a Prophecy Thunder?
“Frost? Wind?” the she-wolf called, but then she soon spotted their white fur. She ran up to them, and called “What’s happening?”
But they didn’t reply. They were staring at something else.
Before them stood a giant spirit wolf with snowy fur that blended with the blizzard. Storm gasped. She could see her parents’ ears laid back in terror. Who was this wolf? As she stepped closer, she heard it speak. Its voice was hissing like a gentle wind.
“Ssssave the dissstant pack. The Ssscourge is upon them. But their fate isss the fate of all……” The voice drifted off, then growled again in full force. “One mussst travel over Dragon Crest, and face many dangersss. They are ssspecial wolvesss, you know.” It disappeared, and the wind suddenly stopped. A silence gripped the land, and for once, Storm wished that the wolf had spoken in riddles. But it had spoken as clear as water; grave danger was near.
The Arctic wolves hurried back to their stone den. They entered, and settled into their mossy nests. Storm lay down with her forepaws tucked under her chest, and her parents both sat up with bleak looks on their faces.
“Storm, Frost,” Wind whispered. “One of us must journey, and one wolf alone. We know that a single wolf must travel over the Dragon Crest Mountains, and find some special wolf pack. Some wolf pack with a great destiny.”
“But who will go?” Storm asked. “And why do they have such great destiny?”
“Perhaps they know the Last Secret.” Frost mumbled. Storm looked at her mother with wonder. Every wolf cub that side of the Dragon Crest knew about the Last Secret. Though few, if any, knew what it was exactly. It was rumored that it had something to do with the furless Tallwalkers, while in legend it was said to have something to do with Creation, and with the Ancestors. “Perhaps, dear Frost.” answered Wind. He paused, and then blurted out, “You know what? I think you’re right. And if they’re the only creatures left who know the Last Secret, then it makes sense why we have to save them.” Wind paused once more, though this time he had a frightened look on his face. “But I just can’t figure out what the Scourge could be.”
