Ooooh, another interesting story to follow!  Keep it up, I'm curious as to where it'll go. :)

Not to mention I wonder if the kind of animal one can change into is based on personality or that they actually get to choose it...

VII.
I only tolerated Ian's bird strut for a few days. Yesterday, he was in my face constantly, trying to do... well, I don't know what he was trying to do, but it was getting on my nerves. I pretty much roared at him to leave me alone and when he didn't, I pushed him out of my way. He left, bawling like a little kid. I'm not sorry. You know how I mentioned that I wanted to walk on all fours? Well, now I do. It's the most comfortable posture for me. I also am starting to get scales. Not fur, like Ian wanted. Scales. When I asked the doc about them, he just smiled. The only thing he's actually told me lately is that the next steps are much more dramatic, by which he means more painful because  it's safer to not be conscious. Now I wonder what other freaky things are going to happen. But I know better not to ask.

No. But how could you say humans are ugly? I mean, compared to horses and stuff, yes we're ugly. But some people are so beautiful

it's an opinion. but I agree, we aren't ugly. we just aren't as beautiful as some animals... birds, for instance. but I also have to say- I'm glad I'm not a fish! ugly muggums, they are!

Some fish are ugly, but not sharks! Sharks are so pretty, especially dogfish.

I mean fish like trout and stuff... even some tropical fish. some sharks are- great white for example. also, I guess I'm just grossed out by fish- and I hate hate hate sharks, sorry... I mean, I don't hate them, I'm just... terrified of all fish. (this coming from someone who loves [not-so-creepy] creepy crawlers). Sorry...

i'd wanna be a Raven, Wolf, Tiger, or maybe cougar or eagle... Actually, I most wanna be myself.

Yeah keep writing. The animals I would like to change into are: A white bengal tiger, white wolf (female) and above everything else I would love to be a golen Dragon!

And flatfish! They are UGLY!!!! And, gosh, don't be sorry. I'm just an neutral person. I don't scream and shout, I only whisper and say things joyfully.

My flesh tingles at the thought of losing my hair. I don't know why; I was never too fond of it in the first place. Jeez, I can't focus. I am having random thoughts all the time now. This is becomming more of a brain dump than anything else. Maybe that's what I'm needing right now. I hate to admit it, but I do miss Ian. Obnoxious as he is, at least he was there. Now I feel a little lonely. None of the docs give any indication of any kind of vitality. They walk around like robots. Maybe I will ask mine for some company. Even another animal would ease my discomfort. I am still fond of cats. I need to sleep for a few days...

I slept for three days, but it felt like hours. This metamorphosis exhausts me even as I try to rest. Beyond the odd feelings I have about my body, there's a certain... loneliness about being here. I have decided that I don't want Ian back, but I want to be with someone. Am I completely alone here?  Am I watching my humanity disappear before my eyes, like a farmhouse in a tornado, leaving only an empty shell? I almost regret severing contact with my family. Almost. Then I remember their glares, the anger and the mourning for my leaving their world forever. I didn't really reject them. Their world rejected me.
