ok this happened with my African Adventures awhile ago and i just ignored it and didn't play that game...but this is the final straw...it happend to Marine Mania too.

When i go to install it it starts out fine...then it says "Setup will uninstall Zoo Tycoon 2 and all of its components." And i can't play the game. Help?

This is only a new beginning, for ALL of us...

...of couse we are all sad that the forums are closing. But this could be a fresh start! Like for the people who spent all day chatting and helping 24 hours a day (I don't think I can be the only one) it's the chance to get up and do something else. Besides watch television. Or if you only helped people you could check out Wikipedia and edit pages, discuss the game, and chat. You might like chat. If you were a social butterfly during the time on the forums check out Avatar's Refugee site.

We were all connected and we will stay connected. In our minds we will never forget eachother. We all had out best friends and friends, or even people we just goofed around with on one post. We will remember them.

And although the forums are closing that only means that we can no longer post. The site is still open for reading!

Good-bye to everyone who made these forums a great place. I hope you move on to more places and make them better. You are all great people. You will survive. Sure it's a horrible loss, but you WILL get over it. Promise.

This is my final post, I decided just to leave and not wait till the last minute, all though I'll see alot of your on avatars forum, I just had to make this post. This place was really amazing, we all had good times, even when there was a fight we got over it and moved on (mostly). This place turned me from a lonely geek, to a happy person. I am now actually more out going then I used to be, thanks to you guys! Im gonna miss the ones I dont ever see again, mainly Firesong,Mozart, and Mumble. They were really supportive! Padfoot, TeamCrab, you guys were awesome, I know how hard it is to answer all those silly questions over and over again. Good bye guys! Good bye forum, rest in peace.

Sadly todays the end of the wor...ZT2 Forums, I just want to say goodbye all, and I hope to see you at Avatar' refugee but I have had good times with you all even though I joined not to long ago. We can still have fun at the refugee, I will miss this place so badly still. I'll also miss some people I will not see, expecelly Padfoot. I will miss the memories at this place and would like to say may God be with ye which is said goodbye for short.

Salutations!

Yo waz up my peeps. That subject name got your attention, didn't it? Just wanted to say that since the forums are closing tomarrow, I would give my final post today, cuz I don't know if this would go up in time for people to read. I know I may not see some of you again, and that many of you won't see eachother again. But that doesn't mean that we have to be so down-in my opinion, the forums are not closing forever. Besides-these forums aren't the most important things in the world, right? But I bet they mean alot to some people. Look, I know I've only been here for about two months, but I feel like I'm part of an actual communtity, not just some made up little wonderland. When I first joined, my post was always at the end of the thread, nobody responding afterwards. But then people actualy rersponded, and I didn't feel like a nobody anymore. Thanks.

The Time Has Come (Once Again)

What starts must come to an end. These seven words are very true. Unfortunately, these true words are appplicable to these forums.

The Zoo Tycoon series started in 2001. Zoo Tycoon was a game of 2-D sprites, like most of the other games of its time. The game was a huge success. It sold many copies. One of these copies was mine. I bought Complete Collection at a Costco Wholesale store in 2002. I was captivated by the large variety of animals, especially the dinosaurs. I did not understand the concept of suitable exhibits as a five year old.

In 2004, I saw an advertisement for Zoo Tycoon 2 in National Geograohic Kids magazine. I wanted it immediately. Unfortunately, I had to wait until my birthday in March. When I started playing it, I was amazed by the 3-D graphics. Yet I wished there was a larger variety of animals. I aquired Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species on Christmas 2005. I enjoyed the new features. I bought Zoo Tycoon 2: Marine Mania on Christmas 2006. At first, I didn't quite the concept of training animals. I got Zoo Tycoon 2: African Adventure and Zoo Tycoon 2: Dino Danger for my birthday in 2007.

One day, I was browsing the Zoo Tycoon site. Suddenly, I noticed a link to the forums. I looked at the forums. I decided it was the perfect place to join. After a long, tiresome process, I had an account. My first posts were of zebras and Tyrannosaurus living together and free-roaming peacocks. I became one of the most active members. When BFKeith came and posted pictures of Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals, I tried to decipher hidden clues.

I bought Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals a few days after it was released. I marveled at the extinct animals. Finally, a variety of dinosaurs in Zoo Tycoon 2!

Recently, I read that the forums were closing. This made me very sad. These forums introduced me to the wonders of the Internet!

In conclusion, farwell. I have suggested the idea of relocating. This idea was realized by Avatar2016, who made a site to relocate to. I am dismayed that these forums are closing, yet there is new hope in Avatar2016's site. Thank you forums. Thank you.

Zt2 complete collection not enough video memory!

i had the game installed on my computer before, but it crashed and i had to reinstall everything. Com. collect. worked fine before, but now first, it says "unable to get video memory from directdraw". then i press continue, but it says "ZT2 needs at least 32Mb of video memory to run(0Mb detected). it was perfect before, please help i have Windows XP home, just enough RAM(512mb), and plenty of hard drive space. i have absolutly no info on my graphics card, but again the game was fine before. Also, my speakers don't work

Item idea?

This is more a third party item idea, but I'd like to see an item for ZT2 that generates money somehow. I dislike waiting hours to get the money to complete scenarios, and this way if a person doesnt want to cheat they just dont download it.
