JakeLinn hissed, mightily baring his great white teeth. He hunched his back, nostrils flaring, and lunged. From his jaws, a tiny, newborn lynx dangled helplessly, limp now.

KiraLinn dipped her head low, sobbing, as JakeLinn attacked another of her young ones. He had taken two of their lives, but she would not let him take the third. As he rapidly shook the newborn lynx, KiraLinn steathily tucked the third into her thick fur. The little one whined as she hushed him, still sobbing, and she looked up innocently into JakeLinn's furious eyes.

"I cannot believe you would do that to me, Kira," He said, "Mating with BetaOnix was the worst thing you could possibly do- you're my mate, Kira, not his... I'm appalled that you would do that to me- put me through the misery as you carried the children, what did you expect?"

"I expected my husband not to be so cruel. You killed the children, which I worked so hard to carry for al those months... Jake, just because our parents set us up, forces us to become mates, do we have to? I could leave, and have nothing to do with you, now. You know that I love Beta, I couldn't resist... He's a handsome lynx, Jake, and I've always loved him. But I will never love you- especially not now." KiraLinn sighed, "Now I'll be off, and you'll be off. Find someone who will love you. It won't be me."

"KiraLinn! You will not leave- not yet, at least. I know that lynx cub is under your fur, you give it to me, and I will let you be, go live with your Beta, but give me the cub."

"Never will I allow you my last cub. It is the runt- It won't have a fighting chance to survive, even with the love of I, it's mother... Leave it be, leave me be, and I will leave you be." She ran off, as swiftly as she could, without dropping the newborn. JakeLinn growled after her, but let her leave. The killing of the cubs caused him a serious anguish- so large, that he never, ever loved like a mate again. But this story isn't JakeLinn's, or KiraLinn's... It isn't BetaOnix's either- far from it, this story... Is about

"Kira! You look... thin? Are you alright, honey?" BetaOnix caressed KiraLinn's silky ears with his giant paws. "Oh, Kira! You're sick, lay here, and I will help you... Wait, you're... you're... The cubs were born!? I'm so excited!" KiraLinn nodded at her real mate, the father of her cubs, a quiver sent through her body, and she burst out, weeping bitterly.

"Oh Beta, Oh Beta, why have I injured you so? I didn't mean it, I swear, the cubs, the cubs... are dead, all but one, the runt. The others were killed... by JakeLinn. The one left... here." She nuzzled the little creature away from her side, where it was nursing, to BetaOnix's side. He looked upon the creature with awe, a look of love, mixed with shock, and anger crossed his face. He curled himself around the little body, and pulled KiraLinn closer. She didn't resist, instead she succumbed to his strong grip, and nestled in closer to her cub, as they fell fast asleep.

Awakened by her new mate, KiraLinn stood up, stretching every inch of her being until she was wide awake. The cub, a little girl, as they now knew, whimpered beside her, as if saying, "Mum, that wind is cold, hold me please?" BetaOnix lumbered off through the trees and KiraLinn carried her baby to a place with thicker brush, where the wind wasn't as strong.

Not a word was spoken when BetaOnix came back with a large hare. KiraLinn simply nodded her head his way as she began eating, she swallowed it all- hair, bones, ears- all of it.

Oh, and the cub... The cub's name was...

installation = uninstallation

ok this happened with my African Adventures awhile ago and i just ignored it and didn't play that game...but this is the final straw...it happend to Marine Mania too.

When i go to install it it starts out fine...then it says "Setup will uninstall Zoo Tycoon 2 and all of its components." And i can't play the game. Help?

I'm just posting this now so people have time to respond before things shut down.

I've had an amazing time on these forums, helping people out and putting my ideas out there.

I'm going to stay online until the end, but as I said I want to give people time to respond.

I just have a couple of requests.
1- that people put their nicest sigs up to be imortilized once the forums are gone. I wish I could get this to TigerGirl and cybertiger345, because they had some awsome ones. LD and RiverStrider, Please put up one of your best, you're both amazing too!
2- That we go out civilly. No bickering, no mean location boxes, nothing that we'll feel sorry about when we won't be able to change it. That goes for the sigs as well, please put up your best work!

Fore future forums visiters I'm putting up my My Favorites pages, where I have a good chunk of my refrences. Normally these would be sign in only, but I want as many people to see them and get help from them as possible.

Hi. Remember me? I'm JCL, I took a break from the forums a few months ago. You can't imagine how I felt when I came back and found out that the forums were closing. It was horrible. I read Padfoot's post four times before I finally believed it! Even then I was so freaked I couldn't bring myself to log in. But (obviously!) today I did. And I want to say some special goodbyes. I limited myself to under five lines or I would have gone on forever! LOL!

Gabby: Wow, I'm really going to miss you. You gave me my nickname and were one of my best forum friends. Remember the post which started our friendship? ...of couse we are all sad that the forums are closing. But this could be a fresh start! Like for the people who spent all day chatting and helping 24 hours a day (I don't think I can be the only one) it's the chance to get up and do something else. Besides watch television. Or if you only helped people you could check out Wikipedia and edit pages, discuss the game, and chat. You might like chat. If you were a social butterfly during the time on the forums check out Avatar's Refugee site.

We were all connected and we will stay connected. In our minds we will never forget eachother. We all had out best friends and friends, or even people we just goofed around with on one post. We will remember them.

And although the forums are closing that only means that we can no longer post. The site is still open for reading!

Good-bye to everyone who made these forums a great place. I hope you move on to more places and make them better. You are all great people. You will survive. Sure it's a horrible loss, but you WILL get over it. Promise.

I'll miss you all.

Life has been different since my mother Moonrise was killed and my father Solaris had abandon us. My oldest sister took charge after our mother and father had left. Her name is Moon she is a strong, smart, intelligent wolf just like our mom was. My Mom had six pups and I am the youngest Zeus is my older brother, he started a pack of his own and left. Than it is Moon, Orbit, solaria, Milky way, and me Starlight.

My Mom had five females and one male. My pack was consider a small one but not for long. My sister moon is pregnant by our new alpha male Mountain. Only the alpha male and female were allowed to mate and if anyone was to mate they were to be kicked out of the pack and to never come back. I had made that mistake I am 4 weeks pregnant but that was not the worst part I had mated with the alpha male I knew my time in my family pack was over.

Adopt the Bald Eagle (aviary), Mearn’s Coyote, Greater Roadrunner (in same exhibit), Utah Prairie Dog and Diamondback Rattlesnake (also in same exhibit) and meet their basic needs

Take a photo of the Bald Eagle flying and eating live prey, mouse for the National Geographic Society

Take a photo of the Mearn’s Coyote chasing the Greater Roadrunner for the National Geographic Society

Take a photo of a Prairie Dog grouping and a Diamondback Rattlesnake striking for NG Society

Build a elevated path and Jeep transport system for your state’s DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles)

Goals:

Build 2 aviaries and 2 exhibits

Adopt the Peregrine Falcon, Llama, Greater Rhea, and Giant Peccary and meet their basic needs

Make a large pavilion with kiosks to meet your guest’s basic and advanced needs

Make a sky tram system that goes through the forest

Place Methuselah in the center of the zoo and take a picture of it

Take a picture of the exhibits and animals

Optional: take a picture of the Peregrine Falcon mating and you will be given a Grizzly Bear

Optional: meet the Grizzlies’ basic needs

Place an add-on to Methuselah to win

Scenario 3: Everglades Insanity- Wetlands- Florida- 3 ½ Stars- Normal

Overview:

The Everglades has a zoo and you are in control! But sadly, these animals are from differing continents, and the zoo wants you to adopt endemic animals from the Everglades. Beat this scenario to unlock the American Themed objects!

Goals:

Adopt 4 beavers and meet their basic and advanced needs

Take 2 pictures of the beavers and 1 picture of the dam the build to gain two American Alligators (Male and Female) and meet their basic needs

Breed the Alligators for a $5,000 check

Use the check to build a pavilion for the guests that will suit their basic and advanced needs under $5,000

Create a botanical garden for your zoo under $3,600

Take photos of plants in your garden to earn a Southern Caracara

Build an aviary for it and meet its basic needs

Create a Show Arena and host a show using the Caracara and 1 other animal

Raise $5,000 in show donations to win the scenario

Optional: Come back after you win and decorate your zoo with themed objects

Campaign 2: Amazonian Mystery

Scenario 1: An odd Otter- Rainforest- Brazil- 2 ½ Stars- Normal

Overview:

Giant Otters are acting strangely in the Amazon! They seem to distance themselves from others, becoming solitary and not so playful. But you can help them! Your zoo is being allowed to adopt two Giant Otters and care for them, even find out their ailment! Complete this campaign to unlock the Amazonian Theme and Pygmy Three-Toed Sloth!

Goals:

Adopt the Giant Peccary and meet its basic and advanced needs

Take a photo of the Giant Peccary sniffing out Truffles

Adopt another Peccary of the opposite sex and breed them to gain the Giant Otters

Keep the Otters ( Female and Male) happy away from each other and meet their basic needs

Gain 100 guests and meet 75% of the guest’s basic and advanced needs

Make a pavilion near the Otter exhibits until their privacy need is satisfied

Gain $1200 in donations to the Giant Otter

Take pictures of the Otters swimming, eating, and grooming themselves

Make the separate exhibits one and keep the Otters still happy

Have them breed to win the scenario

Optional: Meet the basic and half the advanced needs of the offspring of the Otters

Scenario 2: Walking on Clouds- Desert- Atacama Desert- 2 Stars- Hard

Overview:

The Atacama desert is the driest place on Earth, but can you support a population of moist weather animals? With a little help from modern technology maybe! Build a zoo of solely Rainforest, Temperate, Grassland, and Wetlands American animals with the EnvinrocoÔ Moist Cloud. Beat this scenario to unlock the Amazonian Theme!

Goals:

Build 4 exhibits, 1 Temperate, 1 rainforest, the other Wetlands, and the last one Grassland

Adopt 5 Coati for the first exhibit and meet their advanced needs and 9.99 their basic needs, except for biome

Take a picture of a Coati with an unhappy emoticon over its head to get a free Moist Cloud

In the second and first Exhibit, try to share the goodness of the Moist Cloud between them

Gain a half star to acquire a Glaucous Macaw for the Rainforest exhibit (share the moist cloud with the Grassland exhibit where the Coati lives)

Create a pavilion around the 4 exhibits costing under $10,000

Make another Moist cloud for the other two exhibits

Take a photo of the inhabitants of the other two exhibits (with happy emoticons) with the Moist Cloud in the background in order to receive a $12,000 check from EnivnrocoÓ

Create a Show Arena with a show featuring the Glaucous Macaw and two other animals

Win the Scenario by creating a Sky Tram system and making two more Moist Clouds, so each exhibit can have one

Scenario 3: Sloth-o-mania- Wetlands- Amazon Delta- 5 Stars- Hard

Overview:

A new cute, cuddly, and endangered critter has taken a rise in popularity: The Pygmy Three-Toed Sloth! This creature is Critically endangered to an extreme level and is reserved for only the advanced rating zoos of South America, being that zoo, you must care fore the Sloth! Beat this scenario to unlock the Sloth for adoption!

Goals:

Create a food/entertainment pavilion under $10,00

Create an aviary (rainforest biome) costing at least $5,000 or less

Make a botanical garden costing under $5,000 dollars

Take 3 group photos of the garden, pavilion, and aviary

Gain 50 guests and meet their basic and advanced needs

Create two exhibits with the Capybara, Green Anaconda, Boto, and Giant Otter

Meet these animals’ basic and advanced needs

Take photos of these animals swimming and eating

Gain $5,000 in Animal donation and $3,600 in building profits to gain the Pygmy Three-Toed Sloth (will appear as a golden silhouette of an icon on the adoption screen)

Take two pictures of the sloth climbing and eating fruit for the ICUN to gain a $15,000 check

Meet the Sloth’s advanced and basic needs and give the trees in the aviary add-ons

Create a Show Arena and a Training Area in the Sloth’s exhibit and teach the Sloth the Cutie Dance (extremely hard to teach trick) until it has mastered the trick

Put it in a show with 3 other animals and gain $1500 in Show Donations to win the scenario and unlock the Pygmy Three-Toed Sloth

Optional: Take photos of the Show to raise awareness for the endangered animals of South America, which will allow you to adopt the Imperial Mammoth, who you must meet the basic requirements of and build an American or Amazonian themed exhibit around it

This is my final post, I decided just to leave and not wait till the last minute, all though I'll see alot of your on avatars forum, I just had to make this post. This place was really amazing, we all had good times, even when there was a fight we got over it and moved on (mostly). This place turned me from a lonely geek, to a happy person. I am now actually more out going then I used to be, thanks to you guys! Im gonna miss the ones I dont ever see again, mainly Firesong,Mozart, and Mumble. They were really supportive! Padfoot, TeamCrab, you guys were awesome, I know how hard it is to answer all those silly questions over and over again. Good bye guys! Good bye forum, rest in peace.

Well, I'm going to miss you all very much! But all good things must come to an end. We have tons of refugee sites, so I'm sure I'll see you all again.
In a way, it is a good thing that they are closing, or it is for me at least. It means that I will stop spending so much time on the computer. That's good. I think this change is the better best for all of us. Thank you for the 2 (approxamitely) years of wonderful posting!

Sadly todays the end of the wor...ZT2 Forums, I just want to say goodbye all, and I hope to see you at Avatar' refugee but I have had good times with you all even though I joined not to long ago. We can still have fun at the refugee, I will miss this place so badly still. I'll also miss some people I will not see, expecelly Padfoot. I will miss the memories at this place and would like to say may God be with ye which is said goodbye for short.

alright everyone. i thought that this is kind of like knowing you are going to die on June 27, and going around to settle all the issues needed to be settled with someone or if you need to get something off your chest. if you have something you have to say to this forum or to someone in particular, this is the place to do it.

Mine is: I came here for pretty much no reason at all. I wasnt very active, and never really have been. But this was the first place that i really felt that everyone had the same opinions as me and the same interests. But as the weeks went by, Marine Mania was starting to be leaked, and the whole reason Id ever be here was to read if anything new was out yet.

Once it came out, I was never on. NEVER. Months passed, and word of a game called Extinct Animals was out. I came back to read when it was later in the year, but still not active, once the magnificent Extinct Animals thread by Rosey Unicorn was out i was always here everyday, always checking for something new.

Once it came out i was neglected the honor of buying it until christmas. I was on more those days, but once i got it, I was once again, never on. Time passed and until recently this page was never even visited by me. But now that Ive become more active, the Forum is closing, which kinda hurts me, but im going to Avatars forum which the link is posted on his thread, but i just want you guys to know that i love all of you and will miss this place.

I think microsoft game studios should make a 3rd expantion pack so you can have as many dinos as the ice age animals in extinct animals. There could be a tall electric iron bar fences, and a electrical viewing canopy. You can even see dinosaurs literally bite each other. There will even be 50 types of trees and plants. Well I mean 25 new plants and 25 new trees. You can get a new type of way to get dinosaur DNA and a much larger lab that you can walk inside of. You can even walk into buildings and bathrooms. When a stall or room is occupied with a person, you can't enter. You can even do the activites guests can do, like going on rides and digging in the play dig pit. The other cool part is you can video tape your animals. The amount of minuites per video is 10 min. You can upload them on zoo tycoon so everyone can watch. If you go on the web site you can burn a disk with a video in it. The video camera feature is like the camera feature except you can video tape the animals. The camera feature won't be gone. You can film be pressing space bar to begin film. You can even watch the videos in your game. To end film you can press space bar again. You can continue the film until you run out of minuites. It doesn't even cost money to download them into a disk. All you have to do is buy a cd that you can download songs into. Now back to the dinos. To get more dino DNA you must look for amber in a tree. When you get up to tree and on the screen it says press space bar to collect amber press space bar and click on the amber when it shows the mingame. The mingame scene takes place in the tree. You could see some tree dwelling animals pass you while you are collecting the amber. When you click on amber the amber emlarges and it shows if there is a misqiuto or not, if there is, on the screen it will say "press spacebar to collect amber. Then you take it to the larger extinct research lab I just meansioned. You can still revive dinos from their bones. You can walk around the lab and you can see a whole buch of scientists doing stuff. You can walk through doors and see what lies in each room. There are also the Reviving labs and DNA extracting labs you can walk into and use. In the DNA extracting test all you have to do is press the left and right arrow keys. As you do it it gets harder. Then you can go into reviving lab and do the same thing in extinct animals. You can even have your own office sice you own the zoo. With this game you can get an extra large zoo. Animals in this game only get happy if you use the correct biome and give them foliage that comes from the country/continent/area where they came from. You can even go into the staff center and get supplies. You can even get food/drinks, sit down and throw away food/drinks. You can even get a suvenier at the gift shop. Everything you buy in guest mode from your zoo is free since you own the zoo. You could even ride your ridable animals. In your zoo's main entrance there is a booth where you guests walk right up to and pay for admitance before they enter zoo property. The last thing is you can hire a scientist and he/she enters the lab and studies and does research on your animals. Diseases from real life are in your game and can affect any kind of animal. There is also a small building where your super sick animals can be brought to, only if you are to lazy to help your animals. You can even hire a veterinarian. Now for the animals

At the risk of sounding overly negative, this site gets"officially" updated about every six months. So I guess my question is: before the forums shut down, will there be any kind of real news from the site stated on here? I mean, as it pertains to major, recurring topics(i.e. new downloads, expansions, etc.), or will we be just left wondering? Because, let's face it, that is the kind of thing that will turn a customer off of a product.
