Thanks!
I would do the hole speech thing, but when I do enter, the line goes down farther than it should. But i'll try.
Chapter 1 ( continued )
Kanoa was completly an utterly bored. Hey, sitting around on the scrubby ground, having to watch over some whelps while they rolled around and played isn't exactly as fun as suprizing and scaring geckos and watching them scurry around in fright ( which was actualy quite comical ). But unfortunatly, there were no geckos out today-too hot. There was barely anyone in camp today anyway, exept for her, a couple of snozzing elders, some low-ranking males ( they couldn't watch over the whelps because they were cleening up the camp and two of them were being scouts at the camp entrance), the whelps, and the whelp-mothers ( who were too tired to watch after them ). The rest of the low-rankers were checking the far borders. The high-rankers, including the leaders, were out checking the canyon entrance ( the entrance to their territory ) because a scout reported seeing a large number of sun-cats on the shadow-walker's side of the border. All of the other younglings were out, being taught by the middle-rankers how to hunt. All exept Kanoa. She let out a big sigh. A forty-two strong shadow-walker clan, and nobody to play with. Just as Kanoa was wish that she would rather be warthog bate, a low-ranker, Zivvee, padded up to her. He was her friend and always knew how to cheer her up. " Hey, you look bored. " he said. "Well, yeah! " Kanoa replied. " Anyone would be bored if the only thing that whelps wanted to do was play no-hit tag."( no-hit tag is a whelp game where you can't hit or nip when tagging someone.) "Well, I'm done with my chores, and some of the mothers are waking up now. Just wondering-wanna go to the canyon entrance?" Zivvee explained, a wry look in his eyes. Kanoa didn't understand-Zivvee knew they weren't aloud to go, with sun-cats prowling around there, and they both knew that Zivvee wasn't stealthy, sly, or mis-behaving. He was also sort of a cluzts. After Kanoa reminded him of this, he replied, " But why not-we both have nothing to do, and I'll try to be as smooth as I possibly can. Besides-I always kinda wanted to witness a battle, if there is one." Kanoa, willing to do anything to get out of camp, agreed to go with him. This will be so much fun- I always wanted to see a fight! she thought as they left thw whelps with their rereshed mothers and headed out.
Okay! That's the end of Chapter one. But before I end this, I want to give some terminology.
Plain-creature:any animal on the plains.
Plains: Any large, open area with barely any trees. Can be scrub, savanna, desert.
Sun-cat: creature speak for lion.
Shadow-walkers: creature speack for hyena ( usualy term only for brown or spotted hyena ).
warthog bate: plain-creature word used for dead meat, since warthogs can be very violent.
Burrow-dweller: creature speak for meercats and yellow mongooses.
Dogs: creature speak for african hunting dogs ( although it is said that dogs left many, many moons ago-even the oldest elders say they never scented nor saw them. )
The dark times : the dark times were a time of endless war.
