Re: Shira 2: A New Beginning

Ok guys, the new chapter is finally here! So let me add it on.

                                                            Chapter 13

Howie stared at me, his face filled with worry. My leg was bleeding and I was in serious pain, only, I didn't know what was worse, the pain from my leg, or the pain in losing my cubs again. I could barely see straight, but I stumbled to my feet. "Shira, easy now. You have to rest, we'll get your cubs back....I promise you with all my life that no matter what that I will get them back safe and sound." Howie said, his eyes filling with tears. I couldn't tell if he was about to cry or if he was frustrated. But I didn't have time for a response, everything got blury and all could hear was Howie yelling, "Shira! Shira! Are you okay! Please answer me!" Then it was quiet and I had realized that I had passed out.

When I woke up I was laying on a bed with a cloth around my leg and a muzzle around my mouth. Howie was laying in a cage staring at me until he realized that I had woken up and was fully aware of my surroundings. His ears went up and he smiled at me. I tried to force a smile on my face but I was to curious about where I've ended up. That's when a lady in a white coat came in and reached for my leg. I yanked it back and growled at her. No human was going to touch me. I had enough of humans......forever. "Now, now girl. It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm a nice lady who's here to help your leg feel better." the lady said in a very calm voice. I looked at Howie and he whispered, "It's okay Shira. That woman saved your life." I looked at the lady and could see that she was looking at my leg carefully. She turned and looked at me. "You're a beautiful lioness aren't you? A very rare one too. There hasn't been that many white lions around here in years. Stupid poachers, they probably did this to you leg didn't they?" I growled softly. "I hear you buddy." She said, cutting off the cloth that was on my wound. I looked at my wound and saw that it was cleaner and not as infected looking, but it was still bad. She dabbed it with a small rag and put some ointment on it. It hurt, but I wasn't about to show my weakness to a human, even if they were helping me. She smiled and stroked my neck. "You've been a good girl. And that wound of yours will be healed in no time. Then you can go back to where you came from." She smiled and began to wrap a new piece of cloth around my leg. I laid my head down and thought about my cubs and how I was going to get tham back.....

Re: Shira 2: A New Beginning

Aw thanks you guys! And guess what? You dont have to wait a long time anymore! My mom said I can come back onto the computer! Isn't that great! Well enough of that, lets get on with chapter 14.

                                                                      Chapter 14

I didn't realize it, but I had fallen asleep. So when I woke up, I was in a steel cage laying on this soft pink blanket. It sorta reminded me of the people I had once lived with. Eager to stand up, I thunked my head on the steel ceiling of my prison. I growled angrily and looked at a sign that said,

"Save the Creatues of our planet,

                                                                For without them,

Our world will do nothing but fall to pieces"

I stared at the sign and nodded my head in agreement. But this was no time for me to be getting distracted. I got up and and began to gnaw at my cage door. Unfortunately for me, it was steel, and steel isn't that easy to break. But that was the least of my problems....

Re: Shira 2: A New Beginning

                                                              Chapter 15

For three hours straight, I watched the humans in white coats scurry around from cage to cage. They reminded me of rabbits, how they moved around like crazy. It was starting to get annoying. I looked up to see that someone had let Howie out of his cage. Curious, I watched as they put this weird metal thing around his neck. After they put it on him, the metal thing began to beep. Which let loose a red light that flashed with every beep. Howie looked at me with his normal, it's-gonna-be-okay look. I wasn't to happy about them putting a strange object around his neck, but he seemed to be okay with it. I was next. The people put this strange thing around my snout and tied it securely. I didn't like this one bit. I jumped back and swatted at the thing that covered my snout. "It's okay girl! You're gonna be fine! Stop hopping around! You're gonna hurt yourself!" one of the people yelled. I stopped thrashing about and looked the person in the eyes. That's when I remembered him. He was the guy who had owned me as a cub! He was probably planning to take me back to his son so I could be their little house-pet again. But that wasn't about to happen. At least not on my watch it wasn't. "That's a girl Icey. It's gonna be okay now. Your gonna go back home with your African wild dog friend as soon as your better. I promise." How dare he call me that ridiculous name! My name is Shira not Icey. But of course, humans are to simple minded to notice. "Are you sure you know this lion?" another one asked. "Yep, that'd be her. The lion that could never be tamed. Not even in America. She's quite a fighter isn't she?" the man answered. "I'd say. But little human contact with this animal has caused her to be frightened of us." Frightened? You should be the one scared buddy not me. I've never feared humans, not even for a moment. I just don't trust them. "I can guarantee you that she's not frightened Marco. She knows that we fear her, so she knows that we aren't much of a threat to her. She's not a normal lion, in fact, she's a white lioness on a mission." "What do you mean? She's an animal! She doesn't know anything about missions! She probably doesn't even know where she is." Marco argued. "So much you know pal. I know where I'm at. Some stupid faculty that saved my life. But it doesn't mean that I'll trust any of you." I snapped. "If your so sure of that Marco, then explain why she was in the village when she lives more then eight miles up north of there." "She probably got lost. If you don't remember that horrible storm that happened a few days ago." "Okay that could be a possibility. But can you explain why she and the African wild dog are friends? And happened to be at the same spot together when those poachers where selling those white lion cubs?" Marco was quiet for a moment. He wasn't to sure how to answer that question. "Exactly. This lion and her friend are proof that animals are as smart as humans. Especially this one here. She's a bright one in fact. She's not a normal lion. And it's not just because she's albino either. She has an intelligence rate of an adult human being. It wouldn't surprise me either if she just came out talking to us. She knows who I am and where she's at. She also knows what she's after. And whatever that is, we must help her find it." I looked at him. Okay, maybe he wasn't so stupid at all. But if I wanted to get out of here, I'd have to cooperate with them. Even if it could cost me some time....
