    Thanks Moz.

                                              Chapter 9

Riley came back later with a few fish. Josh why don’t you cook? Riley asked Josh. Me and Riley have already cooked before and you never cook! I complained. Josh grabbed for the fish and me and Riley grinned at each other. While Josh was cooking I went out into the jungle, walking around. I noticed a small bush with yellow flowers on it. I walked closer and saw yellow fruits on the plant. I grabbed one and saw that it was a lemon! A lemon? I wondered. I thought they didn’t grow out here. I searched the bush for more, but only found two more. We could use the lemons for more flavor on the fish. Still amazed that lemons grew out here, I walked back to the cave. You found lemons? Riley asked. I thought that they grew in Asia. Said Josh. Well, we’ve seen wolves with tigers. So I guess lemons can grow here too. I explained. Done with the fish. Josh said to us. Josh, do you know how we are going to cut this? I think I have a pocket knife! Josh yelled excited. We’ve been here for how long and you have a pocket knife! Riley yelled annoyed. I didn’t know I had one with me. Right. Josh cut the lemon with his newly discovered knife. The fish were way better with lemon juice on them. I didn’t even know what kind of fish they were! They were better with lemon. Said Riley. I still don’t know why there are lemons, wolves and tigers on this island. Josh said. We had to crash on this island. I said. Yeah. Josh said. After eating I went to where a cliff hangs over the jungle. I sat there and watched the sun set behind thore it got too dark I walked back to the cave. I went to sleep while the cry of a wolf broke the night silence.

    Sleep [|-)]

                                              Chapter 10

. The next morning I woke up to something growling. I groaned and sat up. A wolf stood in front of the black, burnt wood. I looked over at Josh. He was awake and staring at the wolf. Quickly, I found a rock and raised my arm to throw it at the snarling wolf. Me and Josh used to play games where we would be stranded on an island and would have to live there. This wasn’t a game. It was real life. Can’t mess up here. I aimed and threw the rock at the gray wolf. It yelped and ran towards me. Josh threw his spear at the wolf. He missed. The wolf noticed and ran towards Josh. Josh fell out of his hammock as the wolf leapt up at him. I looked over and saw that Riley was awake. The wolf spun around and ran back out into the jungle where it came from. The rest of the morning was pretty much silent. So Josh. I said later that morning. Did you leave any food out? I thought I didn’t. I think you did. I said. You’re right. That fish was left on the ground next to the fire. Josh said. But, I didn’t set it there. Riley did. We both looked at Riley. I put the fish next to the fire. I thought something would come and eat it. Riley said innocently. A breeze came into the cave knocking over piles of neatly stacked firewood. Ok its really windy outside. Josh said noticing a tree that was blew over by the wind. Josh, how about you go hunting. Riley said while stacking the firewood back into a pile. Josh sighed and walked outside to go hunting. I started to walk outside with Josh. Riley don’t forget to put out the fire if you leave. I said to Riley. She nodded and I ran after Josh.

    I need a comment before I post chapter 12

                                                Chapter 11

We headed through the jungle looking for something. I found some tracks in the dirt. They look like deer tracks. Said Josh. We followed them and saw a small deer type animal. There’s deer out here? I whispered to Josh. I guess, there’s one standing in front of us. He whispered back to me. The deer looked up. Looking around cautiously it went back to eating. With out making any noise Josh made his way closer. A few minutes later, it sniffed the air and ran off. Josh walked over to me. I didn’t make any noise. Josh said. Maybe it smelled you. I said. Or another animal. Josh said. We started to walk back to the cave, when there was a strange smell in the air. Josh looked at me. Is that smoke? He asked me. I told Riley to put the fire out. I said. We ran back up to the cave. The wind would have blown some of the fire on to all the firewood which would have been knocked over by the wind. We raced through the forest and saw the cave. The jungle and the inside of the cave was all flames.

    Re: Survival

I just sent my story to a soilder in Afganhastan with my letter. It was my homework.

                                                 Chapter 12

. We ran inside the cave. The fire wasn’t bad in there as it was outside, but the firewood was scattered everywhere by the wind and then the wind spread the fire onto the firewood. Which eventually ended up outside spreading the fire onto the surrounding jungle. Our hammocks were burning, one just a pile of ashes. Why can’t Riley just follow directions for once? I asked Josh. Here’s a better question, Said Josh. Where is she? Instead of starring at the fire, how about we go and find her? I said. Oh yeah. Said Josh running outside towards the jungle after me. After searching for half an hour, we finally found Riley watching something. What are you doing? Josh asked. Riley spun around surprised. What are you doing? She asked us. Trying to find out why you didn’t put the fire out when you left the cave, I said. I thought I did. But, does it really matter? She asked. Yeah, it kind of does. Josh said. There’s a fire near the cave now and we don’t have any hammocks now. There’s a fire? She asked. Yes! I yelled. And it’s all because you didn’t put the fire out! She looked over her shoulder. You scared them away! Riley complained. What did Julia’s yelling scare away? Josh asked Riley. The wild horses I was watching. Now there’s horses? I asked. Tigers, wolves, lemons and wild horses. I said. What else? The fire was slowly fading but not fast enough for us to sleep in the cave. And it looked like a storm was coming. Good for putting the fire out but not for where ever we’re sleeping tonight. I found a comfortable position in a tree and fell asleep under the starry sky.

    Re: Survival

                                                                 Chapter 13

It has been raining for the last five days. All of us have made “beds”. I put 12 logs on the floor of the cave. I put two rocks at each end so they wouldn’t roll and I put palm tree leaves on top. It wasn’t comterble but it would do. Josh tried making another hammock out of thick vines but gave up as usual. He ended up copying me but with an extra layer of leaves. Riley made some sort of platform with logs. She put a bunch of springy twigs on top and a few layers of leaves. Me and Josh were impressed. The rain had finally let up. I walked outside with small raindrops pelting. It had been much worse over the last five days. I didn’t dare cross the river. It was overflowing with roaring, splashing water. I fallowed the river down the hill being careful not to slip in the mud. Near the bottom I tripped. Ahhhhhh!! Sigh. My face and whole body was covered in mud. I got up and headed towards the river. I washed my face in the muddy water. I went over to the hill to find what I tripped on.

    Re: Survival

                           Chapter 14

. It was half buried in the mud and rusted. I pulled the thing. Something moved. I grabbed a rock and started to dig so I could find out what the rusted thing was. Half of it was cleared after 2 minutes of digging. I saw some wood boards. I kept digging. After 3 more minutes of digging I had cleared most of the mud. It was a wooden lid to something. I had tripped on the handle. When I pulled it open the hinges almost broke off. It was some kind of cellar. And it was pitch black. I ran back up to the cave. Riley! Josh! What now? Riley asked. You found flying pigs right? Josh asked. No. There are no flying pigs. I found an old cellar type thing. Where is it? Riley asked. At the bottom of the hill. Can I see it? Josh asked. No. The cellar is too dark. We can bring a torch. It’s raining. I said. Oh yeah. Josh said. Josh, does you’re boat have an emergency kit? Riley asked. Isn’t it required to have an emergency kit? I asked. Maybe I do have one. Josh thought. Julia, how about you go and get the emergency kit? Ok. I said leaving.

    Re: Survival

                             Chapter 15

I tried to figure out the boats layout. Was the front on that end or that end? I wondered. I knew I wasn’t going to find out by just standing here. So, I dove in. The water wasn’t that cold. The emergency kit is usually in the part where the person drives the boat. I went back up for air. When I was just about to go back down I felt something brush against my leg. I looked down and saw that it was a shark. I could tell what kind of shark it was. It had spots over it’s entire body. It was the Leopard Shark. I didn’t panic. It probably didn’t come to hurt me. Hopefully. I climbed out of the water and waited for it to swim away. After swimming around the area for awhile it decided that nothing good was in that area and it swam away. I dove back into the water to find the kit. I found it after swimming around the boat a few times. I brought it back to the cave. When we opened the emergency kit Josh pulled out 6 bags. Riley found the flashlight. Does it work? I asked. He turned the flashlight on. It didn’t work. He threw the flashlight and it hit the wall. It turned on. Yay! It works! Riley yelled. Now we can see what’s down in the hole Julia found. Josh said. It’s not a hole. I said. Whatever, Josh replied.

                                           Chapter 16

I wish we had an umbrella. Riley said. Be thankful we have a flashlight. I said. Josh pulled open the door and turned the flashlight on. I don’t see anything. He said. Let me see, I said. I look in the corner! Riley said. There was a rope swinging from the bottom left corner of the door. Josh you go first, I said. Why should I go first? He asked. Because you’re a boy, Riley said. He rolled his eyes and climbed down. You next, Riley said to me. I tested the rope by kicking it. It swung around and hit clumps of dirt on the wall knocking them off onto the ground. I climbed down and told Riley to come down. She was the slowest and most cautious one to climb down. Looks like a storage room or something, Josh said. Let me have the flashlight. I said. He gave it to me and I looked around the room. I looked in one corner and saw what looked like the remains of a dead body and a journal.

Thanks. I have to type this again because Microsoftword won't let me copy or type.

                                              Chapter 17

I screamed. What? Asked Riley. She looked over and screamed even louder. Is it human? I asked Josh. No. He said calmly. It looks like a gorilla or something. There are gorillas on the island? Riley asked. I don't know. I said. I went over and picked up the journal. Once we were back in the cave I would read it. We walked into the other corner of the room. Looks like stored food. Said Josh. Riley started walking over to Josh. I don't know why but that area was small. We had to crouch down to to walk without hitting the dirt ceiling. Ow! Riley shouted. What? Josh asked. I shined the flashlight on Riley and saw a lantern above her head. Hey a lantern! Josh yelled pointing to it. I guess whoever was on the island didn't have a flashlight. Riley said reaching up and grabbing the lantern. We climbed out of the cellar and went back to the cave. Near the flickering flames of the fire I read the first page.

Well that took about 10 minutes. (Not including spelling mistakes that were fixed.)

    Re: Survival

Sence I kept you waiting so long I guess another chapter won't hurt.

                                                    Chapter 18

    Day one,

I've been stranded on this island for about a week now. Alot of the wolves that were on my boat are tame. When I was on another island some wolves found their way on my boat and attacked me when I was near this island and crashed. Thats how I ended up here.

I read it outloud to Josh and Riley. The wolves don't seem that tame. Josh said. We don't even know how old this journal is. Riley said. If its really old the wolves probaley forgot what a human is. I saw a leopard shark today. I said. Leopard sharks live around here? Josh asked. No, but we've seen wolves, lemons, and wild horses. We know how the wolves got here but lemons come from Asia. Riley noted. I'll read another page.
