ok this happened with my African Adventures awhile ago and i just ignored it and didn't play that game...but this is the final straw...it happend to Marine Mania too.

When i go to install it it starts out fine...then it says "Setup will uninstall Zoo Tycoon 2 and all of its components." And i can't play the game. Help?

Ok, I have all the zoo tycoon games, and I have one problem in Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals. Every time I adopt a male Asian Elephant, It immediatly turns PINK!!!!! no, this isn't pink elephant disease. When I adopt a female Asian elephant, it's normal. WHAT IN THE HECK IS WRONG?????

Marine Mania: Why Do People Stop Coming to My Shows?

I have the Zoo Tycoon Complete Collection CD, so I can combine Zoo Tycoon, Dinosaur Digs and Marine Mania all into one zoo. Let's say that I set up an Orca show. It's successful, people come and I generate a lot of money. So, I set up an Otter show also. All of a sudden people stop going to my Orca show altogether and only go to my Otter show, even when I have both shows running. When I close down my Otter show completely, nobody wants to go back to see the Orcas, even if its the only show in currently going in the whole park. This has been happening to me at every zoo I've ever created. Needless to say, I get quite bummed when this happens.

Can I only have one animal show running for the whole zoo? How can I have people go to both my Otter and my Orca show? Is there a trick to this that I'm just not getting? I've tried looking for answers before coming here but nobody has been able to help me. I hope somebody here knows something that can help me! Thanks!

How to get downloads from Zoo Admin to show up in your game!!!

With all the recent topics asking how to get animals and objects downloaded from Zoo Admin into their game, I decided to post this, which will explain the two ways to get the files into your game. They will work for all downloads (buildings, animals, variants, ect.) I will be using the Fallow Deer as an example.

Method to get files in-game:

Step 1: First, download the file.

Step 2: Then, go to where you downloaded it. It should be a .zip file. Before you can use what you downloaded, you need to extract the files out of it. You can use WinZip or WinRar to extract the files if you have them, but if you don't, Windows Xp has its own extraction program. I will be extracting the files using Xp's program. Right-click and select 'Extract all.'

Step 3: Then the Extraction Wizard should open. First click ‘Next’, then tell it where to extract the files. To make it easier, extract it into the file you’re currently in and remove the text which will say something along the lines of dlver-file-name-, then click ‘Next.’ Finally, click ‘Finish.’

Step 4: One you’ve done that, a new folder should’ve shown up. Usually it’s the name of the creators of what you downloaded. Or it could be a .z2f file with a folder of the same name. If it’s a .z2f file, skip to the next step. If not, open the folder. There you should see a .dl file along with a folder that has the name of what you downloaded. Enter that folder and there should be the .z2f file.

Then move both the folder and the .dl file to ‘C: Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\downloads\zootycoon_com_zt2_1033.’

This folder will only appear if you’ve downloaded Official Content from the in-game download button. Also, depending on the language of your game and what country you’re in, the file may have a slightly different name. These files are Hidden Folders. If you can see them, skip to ‘Step 5.’ If you can’t see them you will need to enable them to be seen.

To do that, select ‘Tools’ at the top of the page, then click ‘Folder Options…’ A new window will pop up.

Click the ‘View’ tab, and then there should be a ‘Hidden files and folders’ section, along with the options to see the hidden folders or to keep them hidden. Select the option to show them then click ‘OK.’

If the files still don’t show up or if you do not have the options to keep them hidden or not for some reason, skip down to the other method of getting the files in-game.

Step 5: Once you’ve moved the files into the downloads folder, it’s time to see if they work. Open your Zoo Tycoon game and see if it appears on the adoption screen/item select screen/whatever.

If it doesn’t, then try the next method.

Alternate method to get files in-game:

Step 1: Do steps 1-4 on the previous method until you get to the point where you have to move the files into the downloads folder. Instead of moving them there, open the folder that has the name of whatever it was you downloaded. Right-click on the .z2f file, then select ‘Cut.’ Then go to the folder where the .dl file is located, right-click and select ‘Paste.’ The .z2f file should’ve appeared next to the .dl file. Now select both files (the .dl and the .z2f) right-click and select ‘Cut.’

Step 2: Go to Zoo Tycoon’s main folder, which should be located at ‘C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2.’ Right-click again and select ‘Paste.’ The .z2f and .dl file will appear.

Step 3: Now it’s time to see if it worked. Open Zoo Tycoon 2 and see if it appears on the adoption screen/item select screen/whatever. If this doesn’t work either, then I’m sorry to say I don’t know what went wrong.

I was looking through the forums, and I saw that some one had posted pics of carcasses that looked realistic, and their tip was to download this hack that allows you to place objects anywhere without it having space requirements. They posted the link, but it doesnt work. So I was wondering if anybody knew of another place that had this hack where I could download it from?

Games install fine but when I try to play I get error message 0MB detected

I have installed all games up to MM2, After I install and try to play I get this error message: You need at least 256MB Of System Memory to run Zoo Tycoon 2 (0MB detected). I'm running Window's Vista Ultimate, on MSI motherboard with an AMD Athlon 64 X dual core processor 5200+ 4095MB memory(ram) and a Radeon X1650 (512MB) video card. System specs are not the problem. Does anyone have an answer to this? Microsoft knowledge base only tells me about the problem no answers. All drivers are up to date. Quake 4 runs fine, Dungeon Seige runs great, Melbourne Cup Challenge runs great, Age of Pirates runs great. Even set my virutal memory up real high.

Guests stuck

I know lots of people have had trouble with guests stuck. But mine turn up at the entrance, arms spread and dont move even if i move them; even if i put them in with a lion. They get angry and upset, they have red boxes for all their requirements, i cant get rid of them or get them moving. I've tried everything please help.

Cant get this program to start

Every time I turn this program on, It gets all the way to the part where you pick where you want to go and when I select that- It looks like it loading and after the bar goes all the way through- the screen goes blank and kicks the whole program off and goes to my desk top.

Any suggestions?

I don't know if I missed it somewhere else or not or if this is even the right place to post this, but I am having sudden trouble with my ZT2 campaigns. Particularly, when I do the Globe foreign zoos campaign. I've been playing this ZT and ZT2 for years and never had trouble like this.

Before I even start construction, when recycling trees/plants, my money suddenly goes into the red and with each click of the recycle dozer I go farther and farther into debt...by the millions...agh! I haven't even built my first enclosure yet. I've tried restarting the campaign, but it just keeps doing the same thing.

Is there a patch or has anyone had this trouble before? I just installed extinct species a week ago...could this be the reason?

Whenever i play zoo tycoon 2 when it gets to the loading page it gets to the picture of the polar bears stays and the music plays but it never loads to the game so i have to shut down my coumputer does anyone know what to do?

I have the endangered species expansion pack for my zoo tycoon game and every time I adopt a galapagos tortoise it kicks me out of the game and I have to restart all over again. Is there a fix to this?

Ok, So like everytime i try to install it i get this message from both of those games. "The installatrion package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package." And it used to work about 3 months ago, And now it wont, It just stops dead in its tracks trying to open the installer. Can anyone help me? I baught those from Gamestop, And i can not return them to the store. Ive already tryed to uninstall and reinstall too, Same errors.
