    Animal Rehabilitation Center (ARC)

The Animal Rehabilitation Center, or ARC, is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to rescuing animals that are in need of help.  We care for many different species from all parts of the world and would greatly appreciate it if we had some supporters to help us care for all of our animals by sponsoring them from our center. By sponsoring, we simply mean that you will provide them with names and help make decisions about their future.  ARC will post a newspaper to tell you how all of the animals are doing.  Listed below will be the animal groups that we have or are expecting to arrive shortly.  You can a whole group, or one species.  All we need are their names and what gender and color the name corresponds to.  You may also inlude any other information that you want to like a story, the name of a pack/herd/clan/other, the ranks in a pack/herd/clan/other, etc.  If you are thinking of sponsoring our animals, you must pick at least a whole species, but you can also sponsor the whole group.  Here is the list of animals we have that are in need of sponsors:

    Re: Animal Rehabilitation Center (ARC)

A gunshot rang clearly through the cool air.  In the middle of an open field, a coyote dropped to the ground, blood gushing from a neat wound in it's thigh, trickling into its gray pelt. A dead chicken was still clamped in its jaws.  Once the hunter was gone, another coyote rushed to it's side.  It brushed it's nose into it's dying companion.
"Bring this to the cubs, Sparrow" he said weakly and dropped the chicken. His breathing was ragged and shallow, and there was nothing Sparrow or any of the cubs could do: their father's time was short.
"No, Rock, I will not leave you."  Sparrow pleaded, even though her mouth watered at the sight of the chicken and her ribs showed through her orange pelt.  Even their children were suffering from malnutrition.
"Dont be stupid, Sparrow, the Hunter be back, and youll meet the same fate." he managed to choke out.
Sparrow left him, but only for a moment: when she returned, she had four puppies running alongside her.
"Is that for us?" asked Flame, who only thought of his stomach.
"Im starving, can we- daddy!! What's the matter?"  Sky ran to her father's side, her blue eyes full of concern.
"Im just tired," lied Rock, "That chicken put up quite a fight." In reality, the chicken didnt know he was there until it was too late, but it seemed to soothe the pups.  Skye ran and butted Flame out of the way of the carcass and started eating.
Oak pounced on Rock, "I knew you were ok, daddy, maybe when you wake up, we can play together" Rock sighed, his eldest son thought life was a game.  If anything happened to Sparrow, he would have to watch over his siblings.
Only one pup stayed away.  Perhaps it was so obvious because her white pelt stood out from the ground.  Frost's pink eyes were narrowed suspiciously.  She was the most serious of his litter, and Rock knew she alone understood what was really happening.
"Frost," he called to her.  She cautiously approached. But what would Rock say? He could not deny the truth, but there was nothing to comfort her.
"Lay still, daddy, and save your breath."  She snuggled around him, warming his pelt. Pure white against dusky brown.
Rock closed his eyes, and Sparrow lead a mourning howl.  All the pups joined in, but Frost's was the best.  She sang a song, to which she did not know the words, but she knew the meaning.  It was a beautiful song that touched the hearts of all, and spoke of life, love, and loss.

Miles away, it touched the hearts of the rangers in the nearest station.  They followed the general direction of the howls, in their cars, on horseback and foot.  Eventually, they came to an empty plane.  They would have lost the trail there except, at the last moment, a ranger saw Frost's albino pelt.  They crept toward it to find a mother coyote and cubs, all curled around a father who was not quite dead.

For those who did not realize the meaning, those are the names and the story of the coyotes at the ARC.

If you do not have a white varient for Frost, just make her normal and remember she is an albino.

    Re: Animal Rehabilitation Center (ARC)

Thanks a bunch, I'll put them in right now.  I will post updates on the website link in the first post, so check there every weekend for updates.  Great story and names.  Sorry but there is neither a white nor albino varient for Frost.  Oh yeah, there are two different spellings of the other female pup,  Sky and Skye so which one do you want her to be named?  There are pics of the varients on the website.

Rock: Grey male and the leader of the pack

Sparrow: Brown female and the second in command

    Oak: Brown male, pup

    Flame: Dusty-Grey male, pup

    Sky: Dusty-Grey female, pup

Frost: Grey (actually Albino) female, pup

    Thanks,

    Re: Animal Rehabilitation Center (ARC)

    Sorry,

The spelling of Sky is S-K-Y, The E was a typo.

Rock padded quietly into the cave, trying not to disturb the females or their pups.  He walked to the nest farthest from the entrance and plopped down beside his mate, the scar on his back leg still hurt him.  On the other side, a pair of red eyes glowed in the darkness.  Rock stiffened for a moment, only to relax, for the eyes belonged to his youngest daughter, Frost.  She had chosen the darkest part of the cavern so her pure white fur would not stand out in case a predator came.  It was still disconcerting to Rock, the way her eyes glowed.
"Do not wake her up," said the voice from the shadows, "she had a rough night, last night: she deserves some rest."
"Has she named them, yet?" asked the anxious father.
"Yes, we all have," Frost replied, "The oldest daughter is named Amber, the youngest, Aspen." She gestured toward the two newborns curled up beside Sparrow.  "Sky has named her son Ash and her daughter Eclipse." Rock followed her gaze to the two pups suckling his older daughter. "And I have named mine Echo and River" Rock could barely make out two small pups beside Frost, and her tail as she flicked first the girl, then the boy.
Rock trotted out of the nursery and jumped on top of a large rock that loomed above their camp, where he announced the news of the new life to the rest of the pack; Flame and Oak, and the newcomers, Ice and Storm.

I know they dont usually live in packs, but in a zoo, theres not much else to do.
