You can add virtual memmory to your computer. That is what makes it sooooo slow- lack of virtual memmory.    Sorry I don't know how to get more virtual mem., my dad did it for me.  The virtual mem. will make your game go alot smoother to.

I am sorry all forum members, but I have left the forum* I will check once in a while, but I have found myself to busy to play on Zoo Tycoon and go to this forum

Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements stated on the back of the case and that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.

It's basically down to your hardware, so if it is lacking in processor speed, memory, or video performance, then technically there's nothing that can be done except to upgrade.

If your computer meets the requirements but is still having trouble, then you may need to temporarily disable any firewalls, virus checkers, or other intensive programs running in the background, as these can considerably slow down your games.

i have a pretty basic setup at my end and i can run ZT2 at medium graphics settings with no problems..
I have

 p4 2.24 ghz
385 MB ram
no gfx cared - just onboard 32mb videoemory

just make sure you have no programs running in the back ground... also be sure to run  virus check to ensure that ur system isn't being hogged.. Its also advisble to keep ur system up to date with anti spyware, chkdsk and defraged harddsiks..
Increasing virtual meory might help, but its very risky, do it at ur own risk...
If you have a really old rig, you can overclock it but make sure that you get a professional to do it as it is extremely dangerous, if done wronly it voids your warranty and you might endup litera;lly burning your cpu and/or cpu... (i burnedup one of my motherboards once...)

But all of these are just temporary backups, the best option is definatley upgrading....
